This year I was pretty much on my own for Thanksgiving. My parents went to the Oregon Coast and my brother and his wife went to Portland. Even so, I was lucky enough to have 2 Thanksgiving meals. I started out at best friend/sister Amy's parents's house. DEEEELICIOUS!!! I love Sam and Lisa soo much. In many ways they are my second parents. I always feel at home and part of the family when I am with Amy and her family. From there I drove over to my Aunt and Uncle's house. Again....DEEEELICIOUS!!! I love my family so much. We had a great time laughing and talking and of course...eating. I did miss my mom and dad though I found myself fighting back tears most of the day. There is no replacement for my parents and little brother. When they get back, Mom said we would celebrate Thanksgiving Moody style and make all the food that I love soo much. I can't wait for that dinner!! I am starting to understand why it is soo hard to watch your weight during the holidays. My diet has pretty much become non-existant. Oh well...I figure with the gym and personal trainer, I won't lose too much ground and can get back into the routine after Christmas!
The day before Thanksgiving, my cousin Ethan turned 17. We spent the day going to lunch, shopping, and going to a movie. We always have a great time together, but we almost always manage to have some sort of blonde moment. Like last week when we went to a movie and ended up in the wrong theatre, resulting in us seeing the wrong movie! Always a good time! Ethan is quickly becoming my partner in crime and I don't know what I would do without him.
All in all, I have soo much to be thankful for! I am thankful for my family, friends, job, Gizmo, and all the possibilities life holds for me. I am going to be an aunt in a few months and I am super excited! I hope that my relationship with my big brother and sister-in-law will continue to grow and that soon we will all be very very close. I can't wait to watch my little niece grow up. I can't wait to paint nails, go shopping, and just be cool Aunt Lindsay!!
I know this blog is a bit sporadic but I am just soo full of thankfulness, joy, and hopefulness for the future that it seems to be just spilling out!!
"A woman is not born a woman. Nor does she become one when she marries a man, bears a child and does their dirty linen, not even when she joins a women's liberation movement. A woman becomes a woman when she becomes what God wants her to be." ~Anonymous
