Lindsay's State Of The Union

The first three weeks of the New Year have been amazing! I have worked non-stop, spent quality time with friends and family, sewed (that's right...sewed) a baby blanket for my niece who will be born at the beginning of March, and have been sincerely happy every day.

Professionally things could not be any better. I am working hard and am working toward another promotion this year. I know that DirecTv isn't the most glamorous place to work but I have been there almost two years and 3 promotions later I can say that I have never been more thankful for my job. In an economy where people are struggling to find work, I have a job with more OT than I know what to do with, a pension, a 401k, and full medical benefits. The company has been good to me and I am really enjoying my work there as a supervisor.

Personally things are going just as well. I have amazing friends and family who encourage me every day. I have a best friend who is more of a sister than a friend. I have parents who love me and who I know I can rely on. I have a big brother whom I love and can't wait to build a stronger relationship with every day. My little brother is such a joy in my life and I am so thankful that I am here to see him grow up. I am getting healthier every day. Through the help of diet and a personal trainer that kicks my butt weekly, I have lost 70lbs and 4 jean sizes. Today I went through clothes that I brought home with me from Seattle and even that I bought in the last 6 months...I tried on a pair of jeans that literally fell off. HOORAY!!! I still have more weight to lose and it is a continued work in progress, but I am thankful for the progress I have already seen. As far as personal relationships like dating go....well....I have done some dating. I am always greatly entertained yet horrified by the outcome. Honestly, I am so focussed on work, building a future, and getting healthy, that relationships of the romantic nature do not interest me in the least. It hasn't stopped my friends from setting me up though.

I have spent a lot of time weeding out the negativity in my life. I have cut out people who have brought me down in the past. I am now surrounding myself with positivity and those who love me and have my best interest at heart.

Overall the State of Lindsay's Union is stable, strong, happy, and hopeful!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!
